When you overboost it triggers the asd relay, so yes asd would feel exactly like overboost, it would kill the spark and the fuel.

If the wastegate was unplugged you would get full boost.

Just today I had an issue where I overboosted at 9 psi, it was caused by a leak to the map sensor line in my map g-valve. When the map code is tripped it limits boost to 9 psi, I think the coolant temp sensor does the same thing.

ur map sensor g valve? Would that be so u can run over 14.7 lbs of boost? My coolant temp sensor is sort of loose and the only vac line i havnt replaced was the soft line that turns into a hardline for my MAP sensor, maybe i should get on that, lol

yeah my g-valve for the map is to run over 14.7psi. Those hard plastic vac lines tend to crack and it is hard to find where. I would replace it with a new rubber one. As for the cts just snug it up and make sure the wiring looks good, I dont think the coolant temp sensor fails very often.

I had that happen to me once when a vac line popped out by the brake booster, Car was normally runnin 20 psi on fwd stage 4 cal. when the line popped of, only hit like 7 psi and hit cutout after a couple seconds on the gas. Maybe the computer was confused at full throttle and only 7 psi so it decided to cutout??? ;-)
