A very long story with a solution needed.

Garrett turbo on a 1.9 modern diesel engine.

It needs killing/damaged/blown ASAP, if the engine goes along with it if I decide not to stall it in time, then this is not a problem. It already whines if I accelerate on idle. A very long story sorry, but an answer to this will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

so you want to purposly destroy the turbo?

remove and cap the oil feed line, shouldn't last long then.

take off the intercooler pipe, remove the wastegate vaccum line, remove all oil & coolant lines, and then go floor it! that'll get her nice and hot lol Or you could take off the BOV, run lots of boost, and let compression surge rip the fins off lol You could also just wedge a screwdriver in it so it cant move, and then start it lol TAKE A VIDEO OF IT THOUGH, OK? I WANNA SEE LOL

OK, far too techinical!! The only thing I understand and could probably carry out is unscrew the oil feed pipe, and let it have an oil leak. Would this kill it eventually? This has actually happened before on my car, drove for 20 miles. Im sure this is why is whistles/whines when you accelerate on idle. If I unscrew it slightly, let it leak, take a long motorway drive it should do it right? I mays well let the engine die too! I mays well since my dealer says there is nothing wrong with the vehicle!

Would this damage the engine first though? As in low oil press coming on and the turbo still working!!

I appreciate your comments, and would probably say the same thing when someone new joins the forum and just asks a stupid question, but you have no idea how much stress and trouble I've had with my vehicle and the customer care I have received from my manufacturer.

so basically you're angry and you wanna smash it?

if you remove the oil feed line to it, make sure you cap it off. the turbo takes oil from the engine to run so if it leaks it leaks oil out of the engine as well.

I gotta ask though, is this the kind of broke that you want it to be obvious what you did or you're trying to get it to die enough that the manufacturer will fix it correctly? "oh it only whines a bit thats fine. its not covered under warranty. oh it only smokes a little bit, thats not bad enough to need fixing."

die enough to get the manufacturer to replace it, its a wide problem in the UK with Renaults, mainly due to long service (oil) change intervals. 18,000miles to be exact, and the use of semi-synthetic oil

oil starvation might be your best bet. I think it'd look just like std wear and tear. find a way to cap the oil feed line, or remove the oil feed line and tighten a very short bolt into the hole it came from. it being a renault I haven't the foggiest what the threads are. try taking the oil feed line with you to the hardware store.

oh, and be careful when you take it off. I've broken the water feed fitting on my turbo at least once because I didn't brace it before I turned the wrench. douse the end of the line with penetrating oil before you mess with it.

anybody know more about renaults and could tell him how to remove the line?

They won't warranty crash/obvious external damage. Take it to the dealership and tell them it has left oil spots in your driveway. They will get under it find it is dry and send you on your way. Two days after the dealer inspection slice one of the turbos oil line with a razor blade at it's clamp. Make sure the slice is very close to clamp and fairly small. Clean all your personal items out of the car. Take it out and blow it to pieces. If you are really lucky a oil fire will occur and destroy the car. Of course intentionally destroying a car/major engine component and trying to make a warranty claim on it more than likely is considered fraud so everything on this forum is for hypothetical purposes. Good luck
