Does anyone do this? I know cars like the evo use water to cool down the IC. Wouldn't a dry nitrous spray on the inlet side cool it down quite a bit? Just a thought, let me know what you know/think.

There are systems like this but use CO2 instead. I would assume its cheaper and less flamable.

nitrous is'nt flamable, it's higher O2 levels help whats alredy burning burn cleaner and hotter

I just thought it might make a big temp drop, but I could be wrong, I really dont know a whole lot about how NO2 works

Yeah it can cool down an intercooler externally. But if your going to have the basics of a nitrous setup already you might as well run in through the engine, it'll make a ton more power. Even if you have to purchase a fuel solenoid and lines, it would be more than worth it over just wasting the nitrous by spraying it externally.

if your gonna spend that kind of money on a nitrous kit to just vent it out, you would be better off just buying a really big IC or better yet and Air to Water IC. I have one forsale actually
Unless you are going to run the laughing gas in your motor don't bother, you will se much bigger gains with a better IC

Nitrous express makes a kit to spray your intercooler with nitrous. A few of the Supra guys did some testing with it, and although it did show gains, it wasn't near the gains you would get from actually spraying into the engine. CO2 is the way to go if you're going to spray the intercooler, it will have the same cooling effect, but is much cheaper.

Just a heads up to the original poster on this ... you asked about "inside" ?? At (outside) the intercooler, sure, but "in" it will throw a monkey wrench into the fuel ratios. The computer will not know that you've done this and can't compensate for the additional fuel requirements. You'll melt your pistons.

I second spray in the motor, it will cool things far better than hitting the outside if the IC plus more power. And CO2 is not combustable in fact it inhibits combustion, so keep it far away from any intake.

Spray in motor.
Nitrous is too expensive to just spray and cool things off anyways. Atleast it is here...

Is there any benefit to spraying into the intercooler VS. spraying it into the throttle body, or vice versa? I agree, if you are gonna spray ON use CO2, if youare gonna spray INto the intake track, go nitrous.

This has been done and successfully, in a 9.7 sec Neon.

If you spray earlier in the intake system you can raise the tempature of the nitrous taking away alot of the benefits of cooling. Also if you're running a wet system you can get some of the fuel falling out of the mixture and puddling in the tract.

But was is nessacary to do it with nitrous, couldn't the same effect have been accomplished with CO2?
