on a stock head do you know how long it would take to spool up with a stage 3 wheel? Forever!!!
I have been told that a super50 trim with a stg2 wheel is a good combo. I am still trying to figure out if a stage2 wheel is even needed for my setup

tell me if I'm wrong, but if you have a nicely built 2.5, it should spin the tires before it even begins building boost. By the time it builds boost, your car should be catching up with your tires. What I'm trying to say is that on a 2.5, I don't think it makes sense to have boost at low rpm. As it is you should need to go light on the throttle to keep the tires from spinning from rest. By the time you are able to actually floor it without tire slip, you should be seeing boost (above around 3k). That's the idea I used building the engine for my omni anyhow. A nice 2.5 in such a light car should spin those tires if it was naturally aspirated.

that doesn't exactly work out though. yeah, a good 2.5 NA would spin tires in an omni (at least a little...) but that's with normal compression, not low compression like turbo motors.

how's your omni do?

motor was in, then it was out before it was started (bad computer and no more $$$ ). Now it's all built sitting in my garage until I can get some time to get a job and some $$ to do the drop in. Hopefully it'll be happening before June

Makes sense about the lower compression, but I'm not so sure that'd make a huge difference. I guess we'll find out. Personally my car is going to be more of a drag racer than a road racer, so I'll be spending most of my time at higher rpm anyhow. All else fails, just rev it up before you drop the clutch. My jeep would roast tires in 1st and chirp in 2nd with a 2.5

If your intention is to leave the head completly stock and untouched you should be looking at a smaller turbo like a .63 A/R S60.

The head may eventually get port work to it. So I don't want to limit myself. Thats kind of why I have been considering a stage1 .63 A/R. Then I shouldn't have to worry to much about lag and it should still give me plenty of topend. Cindy had recommended a stage1 .63 with a super 46 trim for a street car with no real port work. But I am kind of wondering how that would work with a super 50 trim....

Then there is also getting a stage2 wheel with a super46 trim.... The stage2 would allow for more topend but since the S46 trim wheel would allow for a quicker spool.
