i just found the craziest thing in a junkyard a few miles east of here, a tII minivan with shelby seats and some sort of what seems to be a non stock turbo.. the only thing missing was the intercooler, i grabbed the entire TII setup out of it, and the turbo looks sort of different than the one in my omni.. the stock tII turbo i have in my omni just says garrett real big on the compressor housing, there is nothing more printed to the right of it, just blank space and then the wga bracket.. but the one off the van says garrett smaller, and then has something like BCC printed to the right of it.. i left the stuff at my garage so i cant look at it right now, but the writing on the housing is definately different as far as whats printed on it. does that mean anything? i wish i could go cimpare them side to side but the stock one i have is buried in the omni engine bay so i cant exactly hold them side to side.. the new one has a normal tII housing other than the printing differences, and i cant really tell if the wheel is any different because my normal one is buried.

the front brakes and master cylinder are still in it, and i left the seats because they flopped around on their adjustments too much.. meaning that when you turn the adjuster wheel they still have all the positions available, but the seat backs will still move back and forth a good foot or so.. is that fixable? id love to have some cs seats in my omni, and they are in pretty good shape.

seems weird that an obviously modded van would make it to the yard with all its parts intact.. new k&n and everything.. my tII turbo is smoking pretty bad now anyway, so even if the new one isnt anythign special im still happy because the shaft is tight as hell, so either way i at least get to get rid of my smokescreen at idle hehe

this one is definately not polished, and it still has the beveled edge on the inlet part where it goes in to meet the compresser wheel. the only thing obviously different is the writing on the housing, and i just cant tell by eye if the wheel looks any different than a stock one.

the compressor housing is the same as this one

but it has a beveled edge on the inlet, and this pic is smooth.

my current omnis tII turbo just says garrett, there is no BCC on it.

hmm. looks like mine is just a regular tII then because the one out of the van still has that bevel in there, though the housing is the same as yours.

oh well, its still better than a leaking one

Sounds like a straight T2 to me as well. Still a nice J/Y score though. T2 parts around here are nonexistant.

ive never found one before either, this one is really weird because it was obviously a converted van.. i dont get why any td'er would let a turbo mini stuffed full of good parts go to the yard.. but whatever, works for me

i just wish i iknew if the shelby seats could be fixed because they are in good shape, they just have too much slop

I saw a shelby fullsize van in the yard one time, it had shelby stickers, seats etc. The engine wasnt anything special though, just an EFI 318.

You guys are living in the wrong state if you don't see any TII car once in a while.

I have seen 3 TII cars in the junkyard ever. Amazininly enough, the 3rd one is almost all still there. im the only one that pulled any parts. I dont want an A555, and i have no way to get the engine home, so all i took was the intake stuff and the radiator. lol
