3100lbs with a 2.2L vs 2300lbs with a 2.5L

I tell you what's not fair.

Let's not forget they did make a TBI 2.2L daytona, if people can live with that, so can the op, until he get $$$.

thank you dr. trying. how about you just answer his question and *not* try to bestow your great wisdom upon us? if you've ever had a turbo go out--and i mean REALLY go out, broken shaft or whatnot, which is what it sounds like happened here--then you'll know why he needs a turbo to drive the thing.

Yeah, I test drove a LeBaron GTS with a blown turbo and that thing couldn't move out of it's own way. It flat wouldn't be safe to drive on public roads.

oi, i really gotta get some things updated on here! Name's ed. i snapped the turbo shaft in my '89 Merkur and, well, it probably took the thing a full 15 seconds to get from 30 to 40. maybe more.

Maybe if you read everything I wrote, you'll see that I am not suggesting he doesn't use a turbo at all.
