Why do you need a turbo at all.

Get your priority straight.

he needs a turbo to fix his car to go to work. =) or he can put a tbi header on.
but i bet a low compression 2.5 would ber a TURD.

i meant the compressor wheel, but i bet it didnt come out the winner of that fight.

If you arent totally broke... try chatting up someone at Majestic turbo's, they have great prices for some nice builds, at least used to when I did mine. The Sweetest turbo at 27psi.

If I can drive my heavy daytona shelby without ever geting into boost, you can drive your 2.5l omni the same way.

If you're so broke, focus on getting $$$, not how much boost you can run. Put a mitsubishi on there and forget about it.

I don't have the receipt but I believe it was around $300.00. That was a complete rebuild and balance on the center section. The also bead blasted the compressor and turbine housings. Checked and adjusted the wastegate too. I provided the core for the rebuild. You could probably save a little money if you just send them the center section for rebuilding.

I did not provide any core whatsoever, and it ended up being around $550 USD. before shipping of course. That was quite a good price! To this day the turbo has no endplay that I can notice, what a monster.

Not a fair comparison, he will be pulling vacuum and with that low compression, you are effectively getting boost before you even reach atmospheric pressure as the turbo evens that out and allows for more fuel to be added... and so on.
