I have been looking for a place to buy a new turbocharger. I am looking to get a garrett t3/t4 with a .50 a/r on the compressor side and a .63 ar on the exhaust. Every place that I have found, it cost an arm and a leg for the turbo. Does anyone know where to get a good deal on turbo other than ebay? By the way I have a hybrid 16v motor. Thanks,

Chris

Well, there are ae LOT of crap turbo's being sold on Ebay, hence the very cheap prices. I am not the expert to be able to say exactly what makes them crap, but other people on here can.

Turbosunleashed will be able to help you out, and so should FWDPerformance. You won't find a better deal than they have that will match the quality. Plus, Turbosunleashed gives a 2-year warranty with theirs, unless they stopped doing that.

I was thinking something cheaper than turbos unleashed and fwdperformance. Right now I have a super t70 and I don't think its going to cut it.

you could probably get a bigger compressor wheel and housing put on the 70 for fairly cheap, then it'd spool up about the same but you could flow a lot more air + you can re-use all the lines you've got going to it.

just up the boost on your super 70, add fuel and tune it well and you should be satisfied. but if you want more than that get the big guy.

The turbo is too big already, it hardly makes 10 lbs of boost at 5000 rpms.

majestic turbos is a nice place for a good build. I run 27psi all year on one of their builds.... not expensive either.

Crap turbos on ebay are made of inferior materials, cheap castings, they like to break while you're going really fast and destroy your expensive parts.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! I got a T1 turbo (Garret) from Chris at TU and I have been very happy with it. Quality work, very reasonable prices and awesome customer service! If you go the cheap rout now, you'll end up spending more because of the other parts ruined or replacing the cheap turbo when it fails prematurely.
