I have an 88 daytona turbo 1. and at about 4500RPM under a mildly heavy load I am getting about 10psi then a quick snap up to just shy of 15 when shifting is that about normal for those?

no because on a turbo ll the injectors are good yo about 14.9 psi and thats pushing it. on the turbo l you might start to lean out at about 11 to 12 psi when using the turbo 1 injectors

Sounds like you have boost creep. I'm guessing you got a mitsu. turbo with an open exhaust. One way of fixing it is to put on a bigger turbo or a muffler that has little more back pressure. As for the tII injectors won't help since you already got ones that are slightly larger. I wouldn't worry about it as it only for alittle bit. If was going to be a problem you hit overboost shutdown.

actually my car still has the original muffler on it, but the cat is removed, I was actually going to open the exhaust up even more

how long does the boost have to be over 14 before the ecu shuts down due to over boost?

it is getting no more then about 11psi from what I can tell from the stock boost gauge but when it "blows off" when I shift it does spike quicklyto near 15. but only for a split second...

I want to try and get just a bit more boost out of it but not much more mabey 13PSI.

I've 13 running on my 91 sundance 2.5. But I coverted it to a garret before I put the engine in. Set it at 13 and if it over boost just lower it. I know I was at 12 on the stock guage in sundance and I hook a brand new one up and actually only 7. So stock guage aren't very acturate.
