all the way out = what ever the wastegate spring can hold, so like 7 psi or 10 .
Then start tighting the grainger a half turn at a time till u get close to where you want (not to much stock w/o an intercooler)

if you took it off the turbo nipple thats the lowest you are going to get. What have you done to your engine? If you are running a modded exhuast/intake/cam and all that good stuff with a mitsu turbo 10psi may be the lowest you can get. Did you try running it straight from the compressor outlet to the wastegate can? That is the absolute lowest you can go, which should be equal to the g-valve all the way out.

Engine is a stock '88 T1, T2 Injectors, T2 Intercooler, I have the T2 Garrett to complete the conversion, but I thought I'd run the Mitsu for a while just to see what I can do with it. Exhaust is 2.5" all the way with hi-flow muffler and no cat.
I will try from the Nipple straight to the can. For now, Until I can work all the bugs outta the car I want minimum boost. Also, it's just a daily driver, so I want good Fuel economy out of it too.
As I said, I still have all the bugs to work out of the car. I got it for $200 with a blown engine. I'm probably thinking I should get a new fuel pump and regulator as well just so I can start fresh with all good parts.

2.5" with a hi flow muffler, cat delete may or may not be enough to do it, it really likes to spool. If you can't get it lower I don't think 10psi is going to hurt anything with an IC. My friend runs 13ish in his CSX with the mitsu with no IC 0 probs. He does run premium though. For good fuel economy, remove weights from right foot  I can get my van down to 15 or 16mpg boostin' and up to 23ish playing nice. Gotta love the instant boost from the mitsu, even if it is a cork. The only two things you can't get by cheaply with is fuel and pistons, new pump is a good idea. $200 for a car is a good deal!

if you are getting pinging @ 10psi get some better gas and check your timing. You aren't likely to kill anything at 10, but thats less than it lets it go to stock with the computer running it. 12 degrees base is what most people run. Run some cooler plugs too, those help out, forgot what mine are NGK, 2nd or 3rd to coldest you can get. I've gone to 18 psi on 87 octane without extra fuel and a crappy volvo IC before I heard a ping, probably doing some that I couldn't hear before that though. That boost level was on accident of course : )

oh yeah do you have a hole in the line after the G valve?
this is not your problem since it would hit the set boost then drop.
It goes nipple on turbo to g valve w/ the ball pressed against that end to a hose w/ a small dia hole to atmosphere, then to the wastegate acuator
If you try it w/ the ball and spring removed it will give you the lowest boost you can get

I think I may have the Grainger hooked up backwards  I lost the instructions for it.
Went and checked, and I had it hooked up correctly! *whew*
TKelly.... what kind of knock sensor are you running? An OE or an aftermarket one? I'm running an aftermarket one, and while it cured my BAD pinging problem, it hasn't cured it completely and I've heard that aftermarket ones aren't as good.
