Hey just wondering if not having my vapor canister not hooked up and just plugging the two vacuum nipples coming out of the TB would effect mileage much? Or does it at all cause i would rather get rid of those and get rid of a couple of more hoses.

What the vapor canister does is collect the vapors from the fuel tank and admits them into the engine as it can use them. Bypassing this altogether will hurt mileage slightly (nothing earth shattering). However, if you just "jumpered" the hoses from the tank and throttle body with a small orifice (0.020" or so), you could get better mileage than with the canister.

the computer also purges the canister when it sees a lean condition too. I would keep it in, it dosnt really rob you of anything and it helps from poluting the environment.

i also always wondered about that canister. Once the top popped off, and a spring came out, now the spring is gone...is that effecting anything on my car?

Mike
Can you explain that a little more in depth?
