thats how most big rigs compound, running the small turbo into the big one, at least in some diesal and gas applications ive seen, look it up on google.

wow, had to read that about 3 times to understand it! but i get the idea.
sounds interesting. my concern would be, if im just running the turbine side of the holset with exhaust that has already lost velosity from the mitsus, will there be enough velosity to turn the holset alone like that? thats why i origionaly thought to use mitsu exhaust and charge air just to spool the things
turbine. ??

Ok, Ok, i just rethought this..... i supose that even if the exhaust alone wouldnt spool the holset, the way your talking about feeding charge air to the inlet of the holset, it would still be compressed air going to the intake.
so realy, weather the holset turns or not, im still getting boost from someware. i think thats how ill do it!
Thanks a ton!

If you think about it, when your turbo does spool, the boost builds up verry quickly. It starts to "feed" itself, more in makes more out to spin it. Hot exhuast gas will have a higher volume and more energy. So a quick spooling small one can shove a bunch of air into the engine to get more out quickly, and when that one is making boost its effectively a bigger engine to spin the bigger turbo. I think that monster holset is going to be wayyy off the efficiency curve if it does eventually spool. Oh well, at worst case scenario its not like its going to be a big exhuast restriction. Where did you get that thing anyways?

you realy want to know? my brother in law saw an abandon logging truck in a field in the bush by his farm and so we went there at 2:00 in the morning and snagged it off in about 15 minutes! then in the morning when we could see it better it turns out it is a BRAND NEW cummins rebuild.
but dont worry, the truck was deffinatly abandon and destroyd, way in the bush! so no harm done.

Look at a Caterpillar C13 or any other production engine that runs a high/low pressure turbo setup. That is how to correctly route it.

Will this particular assembly work? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a skeptic. I'd also like to see how you are going to tune it.

Sure, the Cat people spent a lot of time matching up the turbos to be happy doing that.

I would make a jet engine out of it... Depending on how you did it you could burn wood as the fuel.

tryed that already with the holset using propane as fuel but i couldnt get enough volume or thrust to even spool the thing!!! so now im using it for this.
