Let me reverse the usual question: instead of what turbo do I need for this engine etc., I'll ask what 8V engine combo do I need to get the best out of a Super 60 turbo? I have a 2.5 with Venolia's and will run 21 psi. What else do I wrap around that S60?

Ported Exhaust mani... Heat coated even better. A mild port job on the head with back cut valves. I would do more with widening the ports and not worry so much about the bowl area... maybe just kinda smooth the bowl.... I would stick with the 782 head. If you get get some work done of the runners of the intake mani I would. And a good IC. That would be killer

EDIT
I just saw that you had a Steve M head.... from what i tlooks like in your sig, you already have a killer setup fo rhte super 60. You should have hardly any lag and killer boost response.... you should be making good power.

i have a 2.5 with nicely "pollished" intake runners and manifold and madly ported exhaust and manifold, no cut valves or anything though. my S-60 spools very fast considering the size and will shoot to 28 psi as fast as a mitsu could (not that it could hit 28psi though).

Like already mentioned, everything in your sig should do nicely. The I/C is even a little overkill but doesn't hurt to have a little more cooling than needed. All you need now is 255l fuel pump,+40's, FWD recal, 3 bar map and away you go!

I have all that too except I'm waiting for my cal back like everybody else. I know you use the 88 turbo cam too; what do you think of the S-1?

I've only ever used the 88-89 turbo rollers, because their roller cams and at high boost they work extremly well. I've built a few cars with the S-60 slider cams, years ago, they might have made a little more power at lower boost but they wear out and I don't like the slider design. I've often thought of trying one of the Taft offerings, but untill I hit a wall(and I haven't yet) I'm sticking with the stock exhaust mani and stock turbo roller.

It is logical that with the tight timing and more lift that the S-1 could only be an improvement over the stocker. However, logic doesn't always hold true. Is your ex manifold ported?

I just ordered an F2 cam from FWDP last night. It's supposed to be somewhere between the S-1 and S-2 (I don't have the specs yet).
