Just picked up a new turbo its got .50 a/r housing with 60 trim wheel , stage II turbine wheel going into a 2.5 with all the bells and whistles .

From what ive read the 60 trim is too big for an 8 valve but might do pretty well on a 16 valve . Maybe i should just stick my super 60 wheel and housing on there and save the 60 trim for the 16 valve im going to do after I explore the 8 valve a little further ?

I take it you have a To4e 60 trim? If so, I just went through that process as well. I went with the 57 trim because it flowed less air but had a higher preasure ratio. I believe higher boost is the key on 8v's to making big power, doesn't mean the 60 won't work, just depends on how much power your looking for and at what boost level. Comparing any To4e wheel to running a S60 is like comparing a S60 to a Mits!

Thats right to4e 60 trim, im just looking to run some 12 sec quarters for now but later when i can afford the conversion parts will be going to 16 valve .
gus mahon ran low 12 on a s-60 in a heavy car with no posi .

And i do have a healthy relationship with my diegrinder ported my first head 20 years ago.

I know it wont be the most efficient but im just trying to work with the good deals i can scrape together.

Just got my turbo and the compressor wheel measures 2.3"x2.75" does this sound like a 60 trim wheel ?

Closest size to that on Turbonetics site is an (T04B) "H" trim .. whatever the heck that is. Their (T04E) 60 trim measures 2.29" x 3.00"

Looks like its more like a to4b then, and its a stage III turbine . Oh well Im just gonna change it back to a t3 and stick my true super 60 wheel on there for now .
Dont know how its gonna run but im going to find out, I had a stage 1 wheel in a stage 3 housing one time and it ran surprisingly well on my van got 18 psi out of it, 10 psi against the brakes at 2400 rpm seems weird wouldnt think it would run that well gas milage was better too.

if it was an H-3 trim I think it would be a decent setup. The H-3 would have you in surge city though.

Still, the H-3 has a pretty narrow map, and a 50 trim will surge less and have a lot more room.

I dont have time to look up the dimensions. Puppet, can you throw up a link to your source?

Interesting reading, that people think that is too big...When I started my project, the S60 parts from Mopar Performance was pretty much it, and it was designed for the TII. I guess a lot changed somewhere along the way? (*laugh*)

He is talking about a t04e 60 trim which pushes 50 lb/min and you are talking about a pos that pushes 33 lb/min.
