Are all 1989 Shelby Turbo Z's Common Blocks?

We are looking for a motor to build for my sons GLHS. We found a Junk 89 Daytona Shelby Z with a Turbo II motor in it. I was told not all 1989 Turbo II motors were commons blocks and they started using the common block later in the year. Is that correct? Either way how can I verify it is or is not a common block with out removing anything from the motor?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Thanks,
If it's an 89, it should be a common block. I guess there could have been some spill-over on VERY early built cars(Like July 89 build dates), but no way to document that. Easiest way to tell is look to the left of the oil filter. If there is a two bolt cover there that blocks off the mechanical fuel pump boss, it's NOT a common block. The common block will be solid right there.
