There's a guy on anothe forum that has exactly what you're looking for. He said that the low end torque was crazy. But he's only pusing about 15 psi with it thus far. I think Chris @ TU would be more helpfull on the flow of that turbine combination. But I'd say you'd be right about where you want to be with it.

That sounds so perfect for what I need but I wonder what the boost is limited to? super50 T04E in stock housing and stage3 .48 on the exhaust.

people here thought it was a bad idea good turbo combo


how would a stage4 wheel in a .48 housing compare to that setup?

I was just thinking, my turbo is right out in the open and I could probably buy a .63 housing and stage2 wheel and swap them out within 5 minutes depending on what kind of driving im doing at the time.

is it bad to swap housings and wheels periodically?

I wouldn't say it's bad. Just a pain in the ass. But if that's what you want to do, I say go for it.

You need to get the balanced when you take them apart, even if you have done it before.


a GT2540r 48 trim pushes 50 lb/min and will push over 30 psi. Not sure where you would find one but its probably going to blow away any to4e. It also has a more forgiving surge line since it is a better/new design turbo.

the super50 map looks so much better, with the GT it would be very inefficient at 30psi and cutting close to surge if I spooled before 3800rpm. Looks like its better suited for around 18psi. thats going from this map http://www.atpturbo.com/root/maps/gt2540r.htm maybe you were talking about a different a/r ratio?

im gonna throw out the housing swapping idea, how would the stage4 wheel perform in a .48 housing?
