I was reading up on Garrett Turbos tonight and came across this "The BOV should be installed between the compressor discharge and the throttle body, preferably downstream of the charge air cooler (if equipped)." I'm wondering if anyone here has installed a BOV on any non intercooled T1's. I have an 85 Omni GLH T1 and I am curious about installing a BOV sometime soon, but don't want to convert to T2 or intercool just yet. Any opinions/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's not about being intercooled, its about being a blow through system. In your case, the early T1's were a suck through system and do not need, nor can they use, a BOV.

Is there someplace that has more information about the differences between to the suck through and blow through systems? I'd like to know more about my turbo system.

Your setup starts with the trottle body then goes to the turbo and then the intake. So if you where to put on your car it would even work and secondly if it did you car would have a massive vac leak.

Blow through starts with the turbo (sometimes a intercooler) then trottle body and then intake.

The reason for a bov is release the pressure from the turbo when you shift or let up so don't have stacking from the pressure since there nothing to cause staking it not a problem.
