I have an 89 2.50 Sundance with a Mitsi turbo. Two years ago, I bought a new one from Forward Motion. The car has only been driven 3,000 miles since then. Last week I noticed that when I gave it the gas, the turbo didn't kick in. Normally even a slight depression will engage it. That's why I stayed with the Mitsi, due to its quick spool up. The car is virtually never on the highway. I have waited till there was no traffic and floored the accelerator. The boost guage goes from the vacuum to zero, but never in the boost side. When the turbo worked, the needle would go to the boost side. I checked to make sure the turbo hoses are firmly attached and they are. Any ideas?
