Hello. I have a 2.5 T1. I recently added a G-valve to my system and brought to about 11 psi. Recently, I have begun to hear a rattling sound accompanied by clouds of smoke when accelerating. I am 90% sure that this is a turbo problem. I have a basic mitsu. I really need to fix this since I will be driving about 90 miles a day on the interstate soon.

Do I need a new turbo or should I find a rebuild kit? If so, where would I find this kit. I might be able to get a T3/T4 from a friend if all else fails.

Thanks for your time.

Sounds like the turbo is done. Rebuild or upgrade from the Mitz ... but you might not want that T3/T4. You need to post the spec's on it.
A solid stock Garrett will do you right for sure.

Just occured to me about the lifter noise i am getting...
Was reading Donovan's pages, and the OSJ heads get deflated lifters if a non OSJ cam is used....
I know there was at least one incompetent person working on this van, could this be a possibility?
or would the motor have self destructed long ago?

You would not have very good oil pressure using a non OSJ cam. I think you would have known immediately.
