The turbo plus units also came with a slightly larger compressor wheel, 60 trim, I believe.

anyone use 14" drag radials? i got a set from a friend slightly used for the right price, so i'm going to try them out this summer. my original thought was smaller diameter would spin faster, helping me off the line in accellerating... but now i have WAY MORE modifications than i originally planned for, so maybe that will make it worse??

btw, car is an 86 Omni GLHT2, will be at 18psi, decent amount of mods to go along with it.

225/50/15's were good around town and for roll ons but from a dig at the track the ifference between them and regular street tires was not huge.

in an l body ive come to the conclusion that the only reasonable street tires for them are drag radials, and the only way the car isnt going to disappoint at the track is if its on full blown slicks

I used them in my van for one summer, best 60ft was 2.1 and that was on a stockish motor with a TIII turbo, it was so easy to blow them away.

that's what i'm thinking... the smaller tires with a light car and good HP is going to just roast them like crazy. owell, they'll still be better than street tires i'd imagine!

turbo plus was only exhaust side .63ar exhaust side

the turbo with both the 60 trim compressor and a .63ar exhaust was the super 60

both units were offered by mopar

The turbo plus came with a 60 trim compressor wheel(larger than stock) not to be confused with the reworked S60 compressor wheel which has a different map and flows about 2-3lb's/min more.

just placed the larger housing on a stock t2 unit but at the same time replaced the stock exhaust manifold with one that was ported by mpgmike.
all i can say is wow... at 8 psi it feels like it has more power than it ever did at 14 before.

Actually, it's a 57 trim compressor wheel (vs stock 45 trim ) ... same size as those on the 16v engines.
Do they round the trim sizes up?

Interesting, I've never heard of a t3 57 trim nor have i seen a map for it. I always thought the 16v's had a 54 trim? The turbo plus came with a larger wheel, of that I'm sure. I have a friend who is an authorized Garrett turbo rebuilder. Back in the day he looked up the build list for a turbo plus and I'm pretty sure he said 60 trim. I also have several T2 comp housings that were machined for that wheel. I'll check and LYK.

The turbo plus is indeed a 60 trim wheel, same wheel the ford T3 turbos use. I'm getting the Lotus T III compressor wheel checked out and we'll see if it too is a 60 trim.
