sweet, anything the 2.4L has the 2.0L lacks? There is a stratus there with a 2.4L head, but I don't see anything wrong with the car so I'm thinking it was engine trouble. the 2L is out of a burned Avenger, the battery caught fire and melted some of the plastic and wiring but the plastic on the intake mani is still there, lol

There is/was a guy that did a DOHC 2.0/2.4 head conversion on his minivan with the engine still in the van! It worked fine. He says he did it primarily for fuel economy. I thing he was pretty happy with the overall result....

well it's acting funny.

When it idles, it hovers around 1100-2000

when you open the throttle all the way ao anything above half, it dies out and picks back up then dies out again and then revs.
no clue on this one... brand new TPS so I dunno...

it misses like a mofo too, I timed it out and set it to the middle of the timing hole.
I think it might be cam timing

I have noticed that when it's dark out the coil wire like arcs on EVERYTHING Imma get a new set of plug wires and check+gap the plugs

under decel or sitting there idling with the speed sensor hooked up it dies it's kinda random seems like a idle air adjuster problem

it has never hit above 5-6 pounds of boost at 4-5k

makes kinda a clanking sound, and the valves are really loud but getting oil
I think it's rod knock, going to pull the pan down and re-torque the rods. Also re-time the engine because I think the cam is off, once in awhile it spits out the intake but then again this could be that coil wire...

ugh this is irritating, any help would be nice... I suck at reading codes, all I could dictate was... 12 13 55

yay snapped a CV end off

the front engine mount moved and slaped the oil pan bending it back enough to pull the lip down and leak most of the oil out too, got that fixed and I'm going to get a front engine mount out of one of the K cars at the junk yard...

I changed the coil wire, maybe it'll help... going to check that soon

engine seems to be doing better but it still dips down and struggles and dips and pulls and dips and takes off, what killed the oil pan. might be the map sensor. i have another one for a laser but it's not the same plug, think it'll work?

AIS may be bad.

When timing, did you have the mark on the flywheel at the "0" mark on the transmission case? If not redo the timing and get the mark there. Pull the crank pulley, line up the oil pump drive sprocket to the crank sprocket(there will be a dot in the crank sprocket and a line in the oil pump/I-shaft sprocket. Align the cam with the first full fin on the valve cover(first from the front). That cam will be close/dead on where it needs to be. Reset the ECM and drive it for 15minutes to allow the computer to readjust the charts.

If the coil wire still arc's put some wire loom around it, it will stop or reduce the arcing.

Intermediate shaft
need a shifter for a shadow
need a 525 or 568 or 555
need a clutch cable retainer
need one center cap (Tire shop broke one when they mounted the KUMOs)

My suggestion(and I don't mean to be an @ss)...stop trying to do burn-outs and stuff on a half-put together car! Get it running and test it with normal-person driving. Get it going and make it reliable...then gradually work your way in to having more fun with it. Your not going to get anywhere if you keep putting it together, breaking stuff, then causing other problems! I realize it's hard not to want to go have fun with a new toy, but in this case it is your best bet and will ultimatly cost you less money and time!

I found these things out on my own and the hard way. I also watched an aquaintece do the same thing. I say these things from experience...heed them if you wish, but be forwarned if you don't the road you travel will be long, bumpy, and costly....

the burnout was in the mud, the front engine mount was bent, i'd rather have it break in my driveway then on the interstate. It's all put together (like my box'o TD crap is empty) and the CV shaft broke pulling into the driveway, I knew it was going to break but I did not know how long it was going to take. The shaft and intermediate shaft that came with the 465 are welded together. The engine bucks and kicks when I give it any throttle then it decides to die, then change it's mind twice before wanting to go anywhere. I have only been hard on it once(2nd full throttle, 5k shift to 4th) to try to build up boost, but it failed at that too.

well, sup guys.

Been allot of stuff going on. I bought a ECU, replaced the automatic one, engine doesn't run worth a crap now.

Bought a front engine mount, and it works.

Bought a Intermediate shaft, did not fit so I modified the bracket holding it, and now it fits.

new drive shaft, also. Went to take off, CV join fell apart... again. The engine is just too far to the right, can't tell how to center it.

sounds funny and leaks oil really bad, but it runs... lol. The oil pan lip is bent, and it's leaking there.
