i was checkin out a local junkyard last week and found an 89 lebaron gtc...hmm. opened the hood and found the complete engine . somebody had removed the trans so the motor was just hangin in there. long story short, went back a few days later and got the whole top end including the head for $200. (was that a good price?) anyway, i've been reading everything i can find on here about doing the conversion. can i just bolt the complete intake and exhaust set up on my motor, change the necessary wiring and go? the car is an 86 daytona turbo z (thanx quickcar!). it already has a mopar performance cumputer. will i have to get a different one?

Bolt the intake,exhaust/turbo setup on your stock head. Since it's an 89 it'll have the bigger 2.5" swingvalve so you'll need to find an 89 up downpipe to fit it correctly. For a computer you'll need to either plug in a 86 GLHS or GLHS stage 2 computer and run 2 more wires for the 4 wire AIS motor to the Logic Module. Or upgrade to 87 Turbo 2 electronics which means moving a couple wires around at the logic module, installing an under hood map sensor setup (quicker response) running 2 wires for it to the LM and 2 wires for the AIS still. MiniMopar Resources has the pinouts for the wiring between the 86 and 87 LM's and www.thedodgegarage has somewhat of a procedure to do it. It's not that hard just takes time. Did you grab the radiator/intercooler setup and hoses too?

somebody already grabbed the rad and intercooler. the down pipe was still on though. i think some one was thinkin about takin the rest of it(the turbo was wiped off to check the numbers) till they realized how much of a pain in the butt it was! i wasnt gonna take the head, but it turned out to be the easiest way to get the whole thing out!
