My HX35 does fine on my hybrid. Haven't pushed it yet as I don't have the fueling for it.

Might be a bit big for an 8 valve setup. You would have to move a lot of air to take advantage of the size of the turbo. On a 16v car I think it would be just about right though.

I think an hx-35 would be a good turbo for that set up. Holsets for some reason are not laggy at all. The hx-40 I picked up from mopar2ya was seeing full boost on a 16v by 35-3700 rpm and its a little bigger than the 35. If you can pick it up for a good deal, I would jump on it.

you are definantly doing something wrong, because my 8v ford setup is not laggy at all. in fact, it builds boost faster and smoother than a completely stock setup (it does have some porting and larger exhaust).
in reality the hy35 is not that much larger than a 60 trim T3.
and if you dont drive it on the street, how are you thinking your experiences apply to this discussion?

I do drive it on the street.

The problem is that some people are really used to the spool time of the mitsu. I was just giving a comment of what I think in comparison of a stock car... and in fact is too laggy for the street ... some others might think that its not, but that is because maybe their cars are heavily modded (ported heads, manifolds, etc) and It also depends on your driving style.

Tony.

R/Tony, he mentioned he is putting it on a hybrid which is probably why you are getting jumped on. Everyone I have heard that has used one on a 16V has loved it. That's why I have one going on mine.

The HY35W and HE351 have a single scroll exhaust. Is is the HX series that have the dual scroll.

HOw well do you guys think that an hy35 would do on an 8 valve 2.5 (with a 3" exhaust and some mild porting of course) Would it spool by 2700 or do you think it would come on later than that?
