gpopshop is great to deal with, they always have been patient with me on the phone. Never got the bum's rush from them. I asked them to become a vendor here. maybe a mod can call on them too.

If there is noise, hopefully the impeller is not rubbing. If so the turbo could
be junk.

Hey ami, mark the two wheels so you know they are aligned when you go put it back together. Then take lots of pics as you disassemble, pay special attention to the cold side. Start a new thread w/pics after you take it apart. That would be helpful to the board for future reference and you will get help.

I agree with Chris 100%, I took one apart and had somebody at work check it for me
in our balance room and it was out pretty for and I had no rubbing at all.

Thanks for clarifying Chris, assuming there was no FOD (foreign object damage) or wheel to housing contact damage. Best practice is always send away to a pro.

Im planning on sending the 87 Garrett that started this thread to GPop shop later on in the new year. The 89 Garrett I have may also see a them if so it will be the first to go I have the 87 all torn down, but due to the CSX rebuild I don't want to take on to much! I need to call them for a price lol
