The mitsu is insanity. I can't tell you my opinion on the garrett yet as I lost my wastegate acutator during my rebuild, but I can tell you that with no acutator the garrett has a difrent feel to it (you can hear it whistling) compared to the mitsu. The best example is that the mitsu would actually shove a couple psi of boost with no acutator. I used to have a 2.5L auto and the boost was instant with the mitsu. The torque converter keeps a bit of a load on the engine at all times so the mitsu is kinda pre-spooled. The car was dangerous (fun) in the rain or anywhere it had an excuse to loose traction. Once the 5spd went in I had to shift at 1200rpms when pulling off the line or it would spool and go into a berserker rage. With the garrett I hear almost nothing for first gear and from then on its whistling. Hope that helps.
