What Turbo Does an 89 Daytona use?

So I saw an ad in the paper for a used turbocharger from an 89 daytona. he doesn't know if it is TI or TII. My baron has the TI but regardless I want the turbo to rebuild for my car but i'd like to know if it is TI or TII. Thanks

Get the name off the turbo.

Assuming stock, if it is Garrett, it's a TII. If is is a Mitsubishi, TI.

Could be either. The '89 2.2 was a Garret T2, the '89 2.5 was a Mitsu T1...

They made a whole lot more Mitsu's that year than Garretts. One way to tell - the wastegate actuator rod on the Garrett is straight, the Mitsu has a bend or two in it. Of course, the other way to tell is to look at the name on the thing! Bill
