So I think the turbo on my T2 Omni has gone out (again). So instead of replacing it with another used one, I'm going to buy new/rebuilt.

Current mods are: FWD LM, Warlbro 255, turbo and IC/rad setup from a Daytona, AFPR, 20% injectors, poly motor mounts, solid tranny mount, mandrel bent intake, a 2.5" swing valve that goes into a 3" mandrel system through a high flow cat, and exiting in front of the rear tire (total of 3 bends), and minor port/polish on the intake/exhaust/turbo, pushing 15 PSI and 18* of timing on 104 octane. She recently put down 202 HP and 243 '/lbs @ 14 PSI, 12* timing and 91 octane. Weighed 2400 lbs with me in it

So I'm thinking of a rebuilt T2, a Super 60, or a T3/T4. I'm wanting to run 12's this year with slicks. So what turbo/trim is right for me?

You still have the T1 engine in their, right? I'd go with and S60, although some people on this forum are having quality issues with their Turbonetics S60s.

No, the complete drive train is rebuilt from a '89 T2 Daytona

What other supporting mods would you need to run a T3/T4? Like injectors, computer etc.. ?

Edit: It would be on an '89 TII car

seems like if you go any bigger than a TII then you should plan to install a 3" SV too ...

otherwise you wont really be getting all the benefit of the bigger turbo AND your already installed 3" exhaust

Supporting mods are listed in the first post, but I have 20% injectors, AFPR, FWD performance LM, and a 3" exhaust (plus other not-really related stuff)

You're not supposed to polish the intake... You need to have a rough surface so liquid get's stuck in it and atomize (The gas) because everyone knows liquid gas does not burn.

a completely rebuilt 89 type Garret T2 turbo with a brand new turbonetics stage 1 wheel. The turbine wheel is really what makes a turbo rebuilt and new. You don't have the head for more really if all you want is 12s with an L body. If you get a 3" SV and ported head then I would buy a new S60 Turbonetics turbo. I would say ported exhaust manifold but thats like the very first mod anyone should do.

Ok, so where can I find a TII turbo with a stage 1 wheel? I don't see it on FWD or turbos unleashed. Is this something that a local turbo rebuilder could do to my turbo (with a rebuild of course)

So I really shouldn't upgrade at this point? That goes against everything I stand for!

i say go big, i don't know what to recommend but if you have the cash a garret gt series would be sweet. maybe gt28 or gt30 for some big numbers at the sacrifice of spool time, but hell who cares get something that hits like a linebacker instead of quick boost and if you don't like it those hold their value well and you could sell it quickly. i'm not sure what all would go into a build like this but it'd be something to see.
