Beware anyone thinking of buying hybrid turbos or swingvalves from turbonetics.

The FIRST T3/T4 turbo turbonetics sent me had scratches in the compressor housing in the wheel path that cut the clearance in half.

The SECOND (replacement) T3/T4 turbo turbonetics sent me had chunks missing from the compressor housing inlet lip.

Now they SAY they are sending me a replacement housing.

And if you are ordering a 2.5" swingvalve for this turbo, get ready to wait.

Their first batch failed quality control and they think they MIGHT get the problems fixed and ship them out by the end of next week.

I placed my order for all these parts on 11/14, so its going on 23 DAYS to get my parts.

And if you call turbonetics and press 3 for customer service, get ready for the RUN AROUND and angry ex-military types who will treat you like an idiot and use phrases like "negative", "0% chance of that happening", "like i said before", "AGAIN....". What a bunch of A**HOLES. Cant you people just go figure out when you think I will get my swingvalve instead of telling me "There is no date in the computer"

Its just like those foreign call centers in India who are TOTALLY incapable of thinking or answering any questions with a concrete answer, but love to spend 10 minutes telling you "we understand your problem it is very unfortunate we apologize for that inconvenience would you mind holding so i can talk to someone who can actually help you thank you very much please hold"

Putting together an engine with custom parts is HARD ENOUGH without having to deal with JERKS and parts that never get here.

think how bad it must be to try to get one warrantied that failed after 7,000 miles. it's been at least three months since they got it(sent it back to fwdp in september, then cindy shipped it to them). still haven't heard anything from them. if they have even looked at it yet, they're probably trying to find some way to blame the failure on me!

garrett or precision turbo for me. Then if you need work done, take it to one of your local diesel turbo shops that is respected.

garret's are good, obviously. lol. if your gunna go with a different brand buy them from turbos unleashed, fwd perf. or forward motion, because at that point they've already looked at the turbos and decided if the quality is good enough for them to distribute. FWD and TU are going to be about the same price for stuff in the end, TU might be a little cheaper.. i think theyre warrantee is longer too. FM's prices are through the roof

I buy direct. :P

Just because a vendor purchases from a supplier doesnt mean the product will come out okay. You always need to check out what you buy because usually the vendor doesnt actually look at the product and it ships from the supplier not the vendor. Buyers need to be responsible no matter where they buy something from. Last I checked, God doesn't sell turbos, therefore you need to be careful.

The only thing I have ever bought and will ever buy from Turbonetics are flanges. They are overpriced yes, but at least its very difficult to screw up flanges. Everything else I buy is Garrett and now Holset.
