What are the benefits/disadvantages of a split exhaust housing?

Those are T4 turbine housing, way too big for any 2.2/2.5 cars.

dont try to guess his engine setup, it may well be that those turbos will work great.
the advantage is that you can significantly reduce lag, if you build a header that pairs opposite firing cylinders to each side (1 and 4, and 2 and 3, on a 4 cyl). the only real disadvantage is that wastegate plumbing is a bit more difficult because of this.

ok, thanks xrattiracer. Also, can anyone tell my what i should be looking for to know if a turbo is a true t3/t4 hybrid. This is the second one that i've seen that claimed it was a t3/t4 and it wasn't. The first was actually a t3.

Yeah, but I don't have a lot of money to spend on one. I'm really looking for something used, or even one that needs a rebuild or something. I see that there are a lot ones on eBay, but I really don't want to buy a cheap Chinese one unless I have to, and most of the actual Garrett ones seem to be mislabeled or something.

You might be better off buying a super 60 or super 70 for ease of installation. They're good for around 300hp.
