I am having a problem with my intercooler pipe on the hot side consistantly popping off while running 12+ psi, I don't know what the issue is, I added another pipe so it wouldn't be such a tight install...and it worked decently for a few minutes I am using basic clamps and some black coupler that I got with my used 2" ic pipe...Any recommendations on what type of clamp, I am running 2" ic piping hot and cold side. let me know PLEASE

got a hump hose or some flex in the system? What are the motormounts like? if the engine is rocking enough it could be pulling the pipe off.

You need to roll a ridge around the edge of the pipe. You can probably take the pipe to any speed shop, or fabrication shop.

just use a die grinder to cut ridges into it, it's easy. How is your intercooler flowing? seems odd that the hose would pop off

A little bit of 100 grit sandpaper works pretty good too just rough up the metal surfaces and clean everything up with some brake clean.

the hose on the turbo outlet is where the pipe is coming off of, so i'm gonna try the 1000grit idea, if that doesn't work i'll put a lil jb weld on the edges of the turbo outlet since it'll already be rough

Well ... why didn't ya say so .... that one can be a bitch.
(don't use the hammer idea ... just yet anyways)

There is a slight ridge on the outlet. You just have to make sure that there is enough hose on the end past the ridge and that the clamp is past the ridge too. Then you need to turn the clamp the right way to get plenty of beef on the screw.

Still can't get it? ... use the hammer :P

Also hairspray is another thing to try, lubes while its wet so pipes go on easier then dries and gets tacky so they stay on

as was mentioned, use the correct clamps, the T-bolt style ones. anything else is just a hack.

umm well i fixed it and use regular clamps, I had to tap the clamp with a flat head screw drive to get it onto fully past the ridge on the turbo. I guess when flybyuin2.2 and myself went to modify and install the turbo, we didn't get the housing at the exact correct angle so there's interference with i guess the transmission. But it's all good cuz now it's on and boosting like a mofo. 10psi intercooled feels like 14psi non intercooled on the t1 garrett lol.

lol sucks now i'm gonna have to take off the turbo still when i go to put the 2.5" swing valve on. And 3" downpipe, i'm thinkin i might do a cut out. I like having a quiet exhaust at times, and loud at others. oh and i'm running open atmosphere dsm bov.
