i feel dumb asking this, but i feel it is something i should know and i dont. im looking at new turbos (t3/t4 hybrids) and im seeing different "trims" what is this? is it some sort of bore on the inside or what?

yep theres trim sizes=size/shape of the compressor wheel
stages=size/shape of the turbine wheel
A/R=size/shape/volume of the compressor and turbine housings
