Had a question on installing the fittings, Well several years back my dad installed an s60 in my old shelby and i finally decided to clean it up. whiel disconecting the coolant line, i quickly noticed the fitting was not really loose but it turned but to have it tight 100% it needed another 1/4 to hald turn... in any case, i pulled it off and he put high temp rtv on the threads but inside it was all dried up like it got cooked. the car did overheat and which is why i pulled the s60. Would that just be the reason? i'm assuming using thread tape would probably turn out bad with the heat? or should i just use some more H/T Rtv?

flare fittings *shouldnt* need any kind of sealant ; I use anti-seize instead

all pipe thread fittings should use teflon tape, teflon paste, or RTV is OK too for the smaller pipe thread fittings (not too much goo, just enough to fill in the threads)
