Like Lametec said, it's better than nothing.
I don't think it's junk, it just don't cool as well as others. The one I have is from a later model probe and seems to flow really well and cools OK.

It was a PAIN to get that sucker out of the Probe though. **** near had to remove the entire bumper.

Same here. I pretty much had to remove the whole driverside and losen the passenger side and the twist and pull the bumper out fare enough to get it out. Wouldn't have been to bad but it took me awhile to figure out which bolts and nuts I needed to remove. The intercooler was full of ice, oil, and antifreeze so I think I know why the probe was there .

Since its better than nothing - if anyone can get one for $20, let me know, I'll pay to have you ship me one.

Does it help to increase the size of the inlet/outlet tubes
or is it just not efficient enough?

Did it make any difference going from non-intercooled to intercooled with the Probe IC?

Dude, it looked like it was gonna come out easy once I got it's brackets unbolted, but there is that little micron of an inch where the cooler is too wide to let the lower pipe come completely out of that hole.

I was pissed and kept cursing and yelling at the J-yard, lol.
I finally had to remove the 4 bolts for the bumper and wedge a crowbar in there to pry the bumper back far enough. Then.....I lost my friggin' socket and forgot my screwdriver.

It's probably sitting inside the battery tray of that probe right now.

I think some twisted evil designer must have thought that up. "If I just make this lower pipe a hair longer than it really needs to be it will be a bitch to get out HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

Oh yeah, some little Japanese guy working at Mazda probably laughed his ass off about that one.
He'd feel pretty funny if I showed up at his house all pissed with the intercooler in my hands, lmao!

That is hillarious! Seriously though I don't know why they made it like that. It must have taken me an hour of fighting with mine to get it out. Of course the second one took less than ten minutes.
