Ok So all the hoses are new silicone hoses. Everything is plumbed to where it needs to be. The engine is a 2.2 it runs great, idles wonderful, drives great. Just makes no boost. All the parts on my glhs are new. There are no hoses missing ,no intercooler leaks. I have a t3/t4 50 trim hybrid. I had 20 psi last week. I changed the cam timing and this is where I am hoping my boost went.
I have a taft2 cam so I advanced the cam 4 degrees using the yellow Mopar performance cam key. To advance the cam I installed the cam key so that it would move the cam gear toward the front of the car. Clockwise. Did I retard the cam? Is it possible for me to only make 7lbs of boost with a 50 shot of nos at 6200 rpms because of cam timing. I checked the wastegate arm for movement..it moves... If I have nothing on the wastegate at all there is still zero boost. I used a hand pump Vacumme to hoild the wastegate shut no boost. I was actualy thinking the puck fell off of my singvalve. ..
Anyways please let me know if I moved the cam the wrong way????

yeah with the cam keys you work in reverse, if you rotated the cam forward on the cam you retarded it 4 degress, as well as if its off a tooth, could be 13??? check your timing and if you want to advance it flip that key around.

I lost you on "if I rotated the cam foward on the cam" Does this mean You want me to have the off set or should I say Key sitting counter clock wise? meaning if the slot for the key is at 12 o'clock on the cam shaft, When I install the off set cam key I would of wanted the offset towards 11'oclock "Counter clock wise" Rather than towards 1 o'clock??

why would you spray NO2 with the car not running right? Put the cam timing back and go from there. Why did you change the cam timing anyway?

Well the car was running great. It is like I said the idle was great it drove smooth so I gunned it. That was when I noticed the issue. I changed the cam timing after talking to FWD Performance, I gwas told that the taft 2 cam likes the advance. See the question is NOT why run with the spray the question is did I move the cam the wrong way causing me to loose the boost?

sorry to read you got probs again........ that's what can happen when you dabble with the 11's!

i know what i would do Jim: i'd put the cam back straight up, and test the results.

i have read/heard a hundred times about how cam timing can effect boost on these engines. wish i had better advise, but good luck i'm sure you'll get it figured out.

well I think what I will do is put the cam key in facing the other direction. I am suprised that no one can tell me what direction is advance/retard.

It fixed it. 20lbs of boost is back. Still comes on after 3500rpms but that goes with the territory.
