the BOV is located inside the air box, you probably won't hear it, like as in your case.

if i remove it from the airbox, keeping it still installed onthe same hose, and add a filter to keep any debris out, will i hear it then?

you might hear it but it's not going to be very loud if you can hear it at all

If your running a manual boost controller and your turbo can spool up to full boost by around 3krpms you should be able to hear it there if you let off. I know I can hear mine at 10psi if I let off at around 3krpms or less and its still in the air box.

yeah, my caravan has vaccuum harness issues that i haven't even looked at yet, but powerbraking it and letting off reveals a very loud PSSSSSST from BOV....but it boost high enough to hit overboost if i stay in it with the right foot.

do what i did. LOL. took the side of the air box off. let the car run. (make sure there is no loose dibry around or dirt) and plant ur foot to the boards, let it boost and let off. i also had a rag on the driver side fender and the air rushing outta the BOV blew the rag across the drive way LOL. i konw mine works. try that lol.
