Manifold/Turbo Gasket???

WTF theres no gasket between the head and ex manifold? Thats the first damn time i heard of that in ANY car. Most turbo cars at least use a mls or single metal layer gasket between the mani and head!!!!! Least most a material type gasket. NOOOO gasket!!! is just rediculous In my own opinion.

Chrysler hasn't used an exh manifold gskt on any of there 318 engines that I kow of. I've had engines back to 1972 with no gasket. I've been working at a dodge dealer since 1990, and none of the 5.2 or 5.9's have ever had one.

im talking bout most manufacturers other than chrysler lol I cant think of any that uses no gasket. Pretty odd

the subject is "Manifold/Turbo gasket", not "Manifold/Head gasket"

there is in fact a (common) gasket between the intake / exhaust manifold and the head

OHHH lol i misread, wel i was calm either way, just responded in shock lol. Although i havent personally heard of no gasket there either from the factory lol. However i dont know as much on that as the other gasket i was speaking of before, but mitsu has always used gaskets there, i can say that. It is a metal shim gasket.

yup my talon TSi has one 'tween mani & turb housing; a nice dual layer SS piece which I spray painted both sides (heard this was a way to prevent the gasket from sticking) and then applied wheel bearing grease also ; doesnt seem to leak

and as has been pointed out, other Mfr's also use a SS gasket there, e.g. Ford, and they are available for the standard (non-Chrysler) T3 turb housing flange
