well i recently purchased a 89 daytona turbo car its not the nicest but i gave a guy 200 bucks for it and it fired up and showed psi so needless to say the car was mine.

the car sorta has a rough idle to it and when i driv it it sorta about dies as soon as i take off the all of a sudden it comes to life but its not runnin rigt it turns like 7-8 psi from the factory guage and it feels as if the turbo is pushing the car AT ALL! i have a 2.0 neon dohc that could pass this car right now its all factory please lend me sum helf if you read..

Not too well experienced with these cars yet. I'm very new to the whole TD scene. I'd start with a basic tune-up. Just to get things running right. Who knows when the guy you bought it from did it last. Give it some fresh factory Champion plugs. Wires if it needs it. A new cap and rotar. New fuel filter. And make sure the timing is on. Then you can start seeing if you have proper fuel pressures and what not. I may be wrong but I think its supposed to be around 55-ish. I'm not at work so I can't look up specs on it. Try that and see where it takes you. But just from you describing things it sounds like its starved for fuel.

I know I'm a noob in this forum, but Kalem I just have to say, bud ... use punctuation. Run-on sentences suck.
I know that not all turbo cars are entirely the same, but you may have a boost leak, vacuum leak, or whatever you call it here. Regardless, somewhere in the intake tract there's possibly (most likely) an air leak. It's an old car and by the sounds of it, beaten. The TB , intake manifold gasket(s), etc. could be pretty brittle. For $200, you've got to expect that something is up with the car.

SINCE THERE ARE NO COMPRESSION #'S AND PEOPLE WANT TO KEEP GUESSING

I'm gonna join the guessing fun
MY GUESS IS:

the previous owner had a manual boost controller and took it off, not even caring about how things are or are not hooked back up. THERE'S YOUR "7 POUNDS OF BOOST"

the previous owner had a manual boost controller and blew a headgasket or chunked some pistons. THERE'S YOUR "RUNS LIKE CRAP"

WHAT DO WE WIN IF WE GUESS CORRECTLY????

I had fun playing the game

When I buy a $200 car, I EXPECT it to run like total garbage. After driving and/or towing it home I drive directly to my favorite auto parts store & buy all the necessary parts/chemicals needed for a complete tune-up, regardless of when the PO said it was done last. Common sense tells me that it would have cost more if a tune-up had been done recently. While performing the tune-up, I check everything under the hood & go from there. Other than that, no WAG's from me. The SWAG (Scientific Wild-Ass Guess) system rarely, if ever, works.
