Okay guys remember this is my first turbo car! the car is a 1990 spirit 2.2 or 2.5 auto do not know how to tell the difference, the car runs great and pulls like crazy a lot more power than my 2.5 shadow does. Question the car is factory original with no mod.at all.what to do first so that i can hear that turbo spool up and make it a all around daily car .thanks

90 will have a 2.5 TI(think of it as a 2.2 with a stroker kit). It also came with the little mitsubishi turbo, nothing wrong with them for a DD, but if you want to start cranking some higher HP/TQ then start looking for an upgrade(normally a stock Garrett T03 from a TII car). Turbo opitions vary on goals(keep that in mind).

Anyways, to hear the turbo spooling threw the exhaust i'd recommend a 2.5" kit from FWD Performance; Welcome to FWD Performance, Inc. or a vendor you prefer(mandrel bent ftw also).

Dont replace the stock airbox assembly if you are just going to place a cone filter over the transmission, its one of the worst things i've seen(sucking in hot air) atleast with the stock air box its pulling in cooler air(assuming the hose from the ECU to the airbox is present) before it starts to warm up. Intercooler piping between the engine and the radiator is another one I dont understand when it goes from the IC to the throttle body(turbo to intercooler i get, still wont do though).

If the only way you can IC your car is to run the pipes between the radiator and engine buy a roll of header wrap and wrap your IC pipe out of the intercooler to the throttlebody. Besides header wrap is much cheaper then the extra piping and couplers to go around the engine and radiator. It just doesn't look as good.
The IC will still help if you don't wrap the pipe. It just looses some of its effectiveness because the pipe warms the air allittle on its way to the TB.

hey I have a 88 crhysler daytona shelby z. Comes stock with turbo built in. I was wondering how I can adjust a blowoff valve or something so I can hear my turbo release all the air and make that noise. I can't hear it at all when I shift or release the gas. How can I make it loud?
Thanks

I have an aftermarket RLF style BOV and it is loud.
I usually startle people when it goes off even under low boost.
