Helps hold more pressure by increasing spring pressure. You will notice a change in how fast it opens and closes with the more you have in it.

i have a stack in mine as i always had it singing before. still opens and closes well with about 3-5 psi

took all washers out and left the springs in. it's a little better but i hear a little flutter going into 4th and 5th under normal driving. wot isn't a problem but i guess i can deal with it.

i belive your suppposed to use the washers to adjust the valve, the package that it came in should have instructions on how to adjust it properly
