Ok so this is strange. I've been driving around today in my daytona (91) off and on for about 2 hours. About the last 20 minutes of me driving all the sudden no boost. Theres Vac still but guage don't go past 0 and Nothing from BOV. I popped the hood to check for maybe some popped vac lines but havn't noticed anything yet. It's been raining for the past 3 hours here so i was taking it easy. Only other thing i know i could check is the turbine of the turbo. It was pretty wobbly before and possibly leaking some oil but isn't that a bit odd for it to just stop?

I couldn't tell if there were any noises when it happened since i had the player going.

Whats going on?

Check to see if you've blown off a coupling between the turbo outlet & intake manifold. If so, you'd get no boost, but would still get vacuum after the TB.

+1 for a blown IC hose, or the IC hose could be ''slit'' which is sometimes really hard to find without pressure testing.

Well i checked any couplings and retightened all the major ones but still nothing.. I don't have an I/C on there at the moment. I wonder if the grainger valve is blocked or just died? it looks like a cheapo. I may as well try bypassing it. I would of though if it was just a leak that it would still get SOME boost. Only thing that MAY of been an issue was a poosible slit on the main intake line at the tee for the BOV but i shined a flashlight right over it while flexing it and absolutley no light came threw (i suppose that doesn't quite mean much). Makes me wonder if maybe a check valve blew or something?

Yeah this is wierd because unless you completely blow a line off you usually get some boost. Or even if the wastegate actuator gets stuck open you still get some boost.

A slight update, guess i'll be replacing vacuum lines tomorrow. I tried moving the lines around a bit with the car running trying to listen for leaks and i THINK i may hear something. obviously it's difficult when the 2.5 seems to be a bit louder than 2.2. It still doesn't make sense though as to what happened. last boost i remeber did look a little low but like i said it happened within 15-20 minutes. I have lines from a 92 so i may try to fudge them on. Well atleast even without boost it's still quicker than my old mitsu galant. (defeats the purpose of it being a "fun" car)

you can use starter fluid to find vacuum leaks... but since your car still has a mitsu turbo im voting that the wastegate arm fell off, because the tiny cotter pin always rusts away and shortly after the arm pops off the flapper.

Even with the wastegate wide open you'll still make some boost, especially with a mitsu on a 2.5L.

Remove the intake pipe and turn the compressor wheel to make sure the turbo still spins OK.

You know in the end its usually the obvious. I thought about checking the wastegate before but it was dark and flash light died and hood light wasn't good enough then just ended up forgetting about it. SO yah it was the wastegate arm.

Now though i've gotten a code 27 (injectors 3 & 4 not firing correctly) before, tried wiggling the injector harness a bit and things seemed to be ok, now just staying. I'll have to post in another section. wonder if injectors are just going bad? do they just go bad? I've been told it's usually a wiring problem most of the time.

clean the grounds? (injector ground on the rail bolt) usually i'll put new ones in an older car (motor ground anyways)
Ive had many mitsu 2.5s none of them made boost with out the arm on it but it could happen! anythings possible...

I've had the wastegate arm come off before, but I still got like 3-5 PSI out of it. Strange.

Been there, used some safety wire as a temp fix. Good old Vermont, the extra rusty state! Speaking of Vt, from what I can see, there are only three or four of us on this forum, we should get together sometime.
