hey i have a weird problem with my van, its a 2.5 with bigger turbo, intercooler, exhaust, external wastegate. the van is at 18 psi.

the problem- as soon as it hits over 14 psi it starts making a fluttering noise very loudly. it sounds exactly like compression surge (like when ur bov doesnt release) which makes no sense to me, any ideas??

thanks a bunch, ben

Yes that is surge. Not stating your turbo helps none, but let me guess, big hybrid on a stock head?

My car made a sound like that the other day that sounded like a compressor surge constantly. It turns out the blow off valve (stock mopar) failed. Mine was doing it at 7psi of boost. I took out the valve and plugged the line and the sound went away. Now I gotta get a new BOV.

Mine does that at 14psi, but i just put a 2nd gen plastic DSM BOV in mine as a temporary unit. I knew it would start to leak at 12 psi but it was better than no BOV, yours is probably leaking.
