i was at a J-Yard and i came across 1 JUST 1 turbo outta the 14 turbo cars there.... its a Garret T1.. 85 i think??? says garret on er.. i know its not a T2... the car has ONLY 100 000kms on it! they took everything but left the block with the turbo and the exhaust manifold attached to it.. this turbo is seized from water sitting in it if i let this turbo soak in a bucket of oil for a few days to a week..... will it be any good????

Im shure you can use the housing both from the intake and the compresser sides.

You can buy guts all day long.

Best thing to do, is tear it apart, see whats not good, and then replace it.

I've done it!!!

Sprayed some penetrating oil in the oil and coolant passages. Let it sit overnight and repeat for a week or so.

I finally managed to break it loose. It didn't spin very well, but I could spin it.

Installed in car. It SMOKED for about 5 minutes. It then quit smoking and built boost. It was noisier than normal, but we beat on it daily without any problems.
