main bearings rarely fail. rod bearings are way more likely and will have a bad knock when they fail. now for oil pressure, the stock electric estimation gauge is totally useless. you need to get a get a real mechanical gauge and see what the actual oil pressure is. go to autozone or any parts store and buy a $20 gauge, hook it up under the hood and see what you really have for pressure. do this before you start tearing into the engine.
if your oil pressure is low, then it would be adviseable to just pull the engine and rebuild it. if a rod bearing failed, you must have the crank reground and you must replace the rod that failed. you definitely can't easily replace the crank with the engine in the car.
also it is very common for these engines to knock from excessive clearance on the wrist pins.
