Yes.
Upsizing just the turbine housing to the .63 AR unit will allow more max air volume and better top end numbers, without having to change the trim of the stock T3 turbine wheel.

On the compressor side, I dont think you'd see a benefit from JUST a housing change, however change the compressor wheel and housing together (like .60 AR) will see an increase in air volume (even with the stock trim turbine wheel and .48 turbine housing in place).

This is the reason why I'm looking at a new compressor wheel (s60 maybe) to go onto the stock T3 center cartridge, with the .60 AR compressor housing (ford), and possibly the .63 turbine housing also!?!

Sort of a home made S60 to play with!!

Yes!
I just want to see if I can build one for under $300.
So far I'm in forless than $150.

I found a guy with a "brand new" T3 center cartridge 2.2T 1987-89 for cheap.

I got a hold of a f*rd .60 compressor housing for cheap (and some barter) with the 60 trim wheel for free, but the wheel is iffy.

I'm researching which compressor wheel (60 trim, S60 trim, etc.) and turbine housing to go with.
Either I can go to the expensive dodge bolt pattten turbonetics housing ($200 USD)
or
find a f*rd .63
or
find a volvo .63 (I missed out on an eBay auction which had 3 of these, and went for $20!!)
or
find a nissan .63

I'll have to go with a TBI style exhaust manifold, because its less difficult than to weld together a T2 style stock manifold with a new T3 standard style flange.

After assembly I'll take it in to get balanced.

At any rate, this is for my second turbo dodge vehicle for learning+experiment+play toy at race track!

Learned some more information, during my homwork phase...

To fit a S60 trim T3 wheel, either the dodge .42 or the ford .60 compressor housing(s) must be milled (machine work).

For the ford compressor housing, I am informed that only the stock ford T3 60 trim compressor wheel will fit without machine work.

I have a new turbo arriving tomorow. Its off of an 86 Tbird 5 spd, .60 comp and .63 exhaust housing. How different is the flange? do i just cut the stock T3 flange off and weld a ford one on?

Do you mean how different is the ford T3 turbine flange from the dodge turbine flange??

The ford uses the standard T3 bolt pattern, vs. our odd dodge bolt pattern.

It'll look something like this...
