Question adding an intercooler to T1 turbo system

I been wondering about adding an intercooler to my T1 system on my '86 turboZ. . In a wrecking yard, I ran across a Chr. Lebaron, '88 with the one piece intake that loops around and faces the front of car with an Holley throtle plate and thought that would make it easy to run the IC hoses to, But I don't think the electrical part on the computor would work with the idle control valve or tps sensor. Is my thoughts correct on this?

SO, what I'll see some people do is: space up the Boach throtle plate up to run IC elbow and cut the inlet on the intake and reposition and weld it to where IC hoses can fit to it, then run all the plumbing to the intercooler. SO does this sound about the right direction to go?

Um... No. Just use the later style throttle body and manifold with the later style electronics. You will also need a new turbo, or modify yours existing one.

New fuel injectors, and fuel rail will also be needed. It's really not as hard or expensive as i am making it sound!

Or, do it my way.

My way means getting another log manifold, cutting/grinding etc, until you can weld the spigot in a diff. direction so all the plumbing will fit.

go with the junkyard parts.

the throttle body sensors are different but by adding a GLHS logic module & a simple wire harness from it to the throttle body it can be converted over easily.

I bought the setup for my 85 chrysler laser but haven't installed it yet infact i'm sitting next to it lol ohh well

Yeah, I thought about doing that way, i've seen it on this webpage "Mike Dodge" Mike Dodge . I like the intercooler you have LARGE. FWD performance has turbo inlet fitting to connect IC hose to my booster...Looking at that other setup that I mention., yeah the turbo looked like maybe a Mitzu Booster unit. I Just installed an G-valve and is setup for approx 13psi and it works real good, and it doesn't hit the cutout limiter. (set at 14psi at first and it did cutout, so readjust to 13). Question>will a upgrade Stage 2 ECU, ( which rates of going to 14 psi), I could go with that in place of the G-valve, Or does it reduce boost after few sec. for a protection? Want yours do?
