does it come from the exhaust or intake side?
I have mitsu/chrysler T3/and full T4 turbos.
what makes the beautiful turbo spooling sound?
the exhaust or the intake?
from what I've known so far it's the exhaust that does it.
so I'm almost willing to bolt on my 1.15A/R exhaust housing to my .60 A/R compressor just for sound. I know a 1.15 A/R exhaust is WAY to large to actually produce boost in the RPM I'd want. but really I just want a "HUGE TURBO" sound.
even if it doesn't spool till 4k+ rpm.
I don't like my stock garrett that spools at 2K rpm and stops making the nice whine at 3K rpm. I may just convert to a 16 valve neon head and the full T4
turbo. anyhow how do I get the awesome turbo sound all the time?

pretty sure it comes from the intake ;

when I did the CAI on my TII and on my 86 XR7 Turbo (removing the stock restrictive airboxes) you could REALLY hear the whistle !

PS nice sig

Mostly comes from the compressor side. Example: Hx35w, it comes with a silencer ring on the compressor side. Taking that off will make the spooling sound more noticeable.
