My friend bought a 1989 Daytona SC that is T-II. I see a line going to the airbox and assumed it was for an internal BOV. I opened up the box the other night only to see that the line and the nipple on the box is a dead end...or it seems to be. I can't find a BOV on this box and thought all '89 T-III crs came with them like '90 and up T-I/II/III and IV cars did. (but a different box, of course)
So... if there's no BOV, what is the nipple on the box for, that doesn't go into the box? Seems like it was molded to not be functional.

It runs to the bottom side and the side of the box that is behind the filter. I guess what I should ask is: Do the 1989 T-II cars come with factory BOVs?
Thanx

they are also the same ones that T3's got, I know I have the one of my bro's 92 IROC RT and when we pulled a motor from a T2 mini (not a typo have no idea why it was in that mini) it had the same BOV in the airbox just like another T1 lancer at yard had.

yeah so what that would be your opinion but its better than NOT having a BOV on my 5spd and having major compressor surge with my grainger set to 14psi.

for $5 its cheap insurance on my $300 turbo.

It works, it doesn not leak boost, it scares ricers when im next to them and heck until it starts to leak boost ill still run it.

Look again, I'm sure it goes into the box. It's for the cruise control.
