I have an 89 csx and I plan on getting rid of the VNT and going with a complete new street/strip setup along these lines:

2.5L common block, forged pistons, mild ported head w/1mm oversized valves, +40%'s, large NPR i/c, 2.5" s/v and exhaust (no muffler) , ported intake/exhaust manis, a BOV, cone filter, lightened weight, a568 tranny w/good clutch, rp computer, larger fuel pump, running around 20psi boost, etc.

i dont want too much lag because it will be my daily driver, but i wouldnt mind a little because it looks like i'll be making a lot of torque (save me some rubber). Then when the csx goes race only i'll probably transfer it over to an 86 GLHS with same drivetrain.

So what hybrid turbo will make the most power and fit without having to grind the head?

Thanks yous verys muchs,
-Josh

The t3/4 50 trim with .63 ar exhaust housing and a stage II wheel. Usually 2.5's can use a stage III turbine wheel no problem. The 46 and 50 trim t3/4's can be had with a machined stock compressor cover. This will eliminate having to grind the head.

Nice catch on the torque and blowing away the wheels... a little slower spool isn't a bad thing for the street.

For the car you described, I would use a stage III wheel.

Kick ass, thanks Ken you always pop up like a groundhog with car knowledge.

So where could i have this done? I was checking out some non-TD vendors that would sell me a new t3/to4e .50trim stage 2, .63 ar chrysler housing for $700 shipped... but thats not the right comp. housing huh. Who sells these and for around how much do you think it would be.... Thanks again

Ask them which housing....

As for where... I buy my parts from RP...

I saw your other posts... Add a stud to the exhaust manifold...

As for electronics... best off with a t3/4 with a custom cal. I've run an s70 as well.. Comparison...

stock turbo 14 psi 101.5 trap speed
S70 Turbo 103-104 trap
T3/4 50 stage II 107.5-109 trap

Stock turbo had stock cooler. The S70 and t3/4 were run with the twin cooler. The S70 on a 40-50^ day the hybrid 70-80 degrees.

S70 and hybrid passes made on a glhs stage II computer with fuel pressure set according to the turbo.. S70 fuel was at 25 psi, hybrid base fuel was 28, (I was worried about creep). Stock was +20's and 55 psi base.

That's why I say get a custom cal... Big differences in the car.
