i was wondering what the symptoms of the turbo going out are.. i have heard a few varying things... my car used to pull 15 lbs really hard (small wastegate can but that is another matter) about 3-4 weeks ago it started only pulling max 11-12 lbs, even with the actuator line disconnected.. before i pony up the money to get a new turbo i need to know what you all think.. the end has a good amount of side to side play but no in and out.. the car doesnt smoke, and there are no other visable signs i can see of it going out.. i know i need to put a bigger actuator can on it, but do you think it is the turbo going out, or the actuator can dying and causing this? people have told me that when the turbo is going out it will gives you no boost, not drops a couple of lbs, and other people have told me that when it is starting to go out it will slowly lose boost... who is correct? thanks

check to see if the cat is unplugged or if there is a hole in one fo the ic lines first...then if there is a lot of side to side play I'd send it to chris @ turbosunleashed for a rebuild...you've got a super 70 turbo right (I think I almost bought you car back when it was for sale ;p)...he'll hook you up.

cat is hollowed out so that shouldnt be it, and the intercooler lines are all good.. the car had no BOV on it for a long time so that wasnt good for it.. the car has a t2 garrett with a grand national inlet wheel.. if i get a new turbo i think i will get a hybrid (can get them with internal wastegates right?)

yup you can get them w/ internal wastegates in in a stock tII compressor housing so it would be a direct bolt on deal. Good luck.
