I just recieved my T2 turbo for my Spirit.
I also purchased a 2 1/2" O2 housing for it to meet up with my 2 1/2" downpipe. This is just an an easy swap right? How hard are those bolts to get out? They look mighty heated/stuck in place. I just wonder what you guys have done to insure an easier removal. Heat, pentrating oil, ect...And what about that one bolt that is actually inside the O2 housing? Is that hard to get out?
Well any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Be Patient! Give the penetrating oil a chance to work it's magic. When breaking the bolts loose, use six point wrenches and sockets. With the six point you get a grip on much more of the bolts surface.

if the penetraiting oil doesnt work, try heating the bolts with a torch.

I usually soak then with penetrating oil overnight, then heat the surrounding area along with the bolts. While they are still hot shoot more penetrating oil on them.

Well that went as bad as it could have. They all came out like butter except one that sheared off. Hmmm. I wasn't really wrenching very hard either. It jsut popped and that was it.
So I go the screw extractor route...oh and that broke off inside the sheared bolt. So I tried to drill all that out and all I managed to do was distort the hole like madness and break bits.
I think I need a carbide bit, and I am not doing it. I think I will take it to a machinist and I will need to have that hole helicoiled or something. I dont know really. Has anyone every had a real problem with a screwed up hole? It really sucks b/c I jsut got this turbo last week and it is like new, but I managed to f*** it up.
Thats it, needed to vent or something.
